I had lab in the morning. I showed up early so that I could have time for an AM bike ride. I got back around 8:15-ish. As soon as I got back, I had breakfast. Then I got dressed and got my gear together. I shoved off around 9 AM, give or take. The weather remains on the cool side. It was in the low 70’s when I departed. Winds from the North West. I made good time to the top of OTR. The Banducci Wall had some traffic mitigation, so I was on high alert. I was able to relax when I made it to Arosa. The Arosa climb went as planned. I kept the tempo steady and let the intensity make its way to me. I was near max going over the top. I made my way around the backside. I had fun on the downhills. I reached 40 MPH. From there, I headed to the top of Banducci. After making it to the summit, I pulled over to take a breather. I let traffic by and then headed back down the mountain. I bought new tail and headlights. I was testing them out today. The tail light seems good with respect to aiming it at the proper angle. The headlight, not so much. Nevertheless, the descent was safe with minimal traffic from behind. The descent off the Banducci Wall was safe. I made my way tot the top of Highline and then around the Buffalo neighborhood. Nothing new to mention. I got back on Highline for the return. Descending off OTR was fun and relaxing. I pushed over Mariposa and then to Weston. I shut it down after making the dig to the top.
Concentration was good. My patience was lacking a fraction till I made it to the top of OTR. I was in the zone most of the time. No gremlins worth mentioning. Balance and form was good. Ailments consisted of slight left outer knee pain and the usual sore hands. I will have to inspect the cleat position. Nutrition was good. I drank all of my sport drink, no water. I had a bowl of oatmeal and some grapes for breakfast. Gear worked flawlessly. The lights worked, but needs more testing. The mystery clicks persists. I will likely lube the rails where they meet the saddle on the rear side (as was recommended by a techie from Performance Bike). Other notes, I saw one cyclist and a familiar walker today.
