It was raining in the morning and it's also windy. Perfect day for Zwift Watopia. I chose the mountain route today. Gear setup went quick. I hopped on and headed out. I got about 10 minutes of warmup before the climb started. I'm at 139 lbs today, so that is reflected in the Watts/Kg reading. It's now showing 1 or 2 tenths less than when I used to weigh 135ish. Nevertheless, the workout felt the same, that's the important part. The climb started about about 3.5 Watts/kg and then I crossed the bridge, mostly in the saddle. Doing about 2 - 2.5 watts/kg. After reaching the end of the bridge, I put it into the usual routine. Out of the saddle most of the time, and in the saddle to wipe sweat and hydrate. The climb went quick. I kept in mind that at about 20 minutes I'll be through the tunnel and out the other side. Such was the case. After reaching the end of the tunnel, I was able to recover a bit on the dip. I was checking my time. I wanted to be in the 28 minute range. At about 26 minutes into the ascent, I upped the tempo to something I knew I could hold till the end of the climb. At this point I was doing over 4.0 Watts/kg. No PR today, but a solid climb, nonetheless. From there, it was the bonus climb. Mostly out of the saddle and quick sit-downs to wipe sweat and hydrate. I was doing over 3.5 Watts/kg most of the way up. After making the summit, I headed downhill. Relaxing. Listening to music and such. I made my way to town, put in a slight dig in the sprint section. I think I got 30th. From there, it was back to the start finish. After that, I rode for a few more minutes and then commenced the cool-down and eventual end of the ride. Concentration was real good. Balance and form felt good. Ailments, next to none. Maybe some quad soreness while in the saddle, and pushing. Gear worked great. The electric tape on the ends of the skewer worked great. No squeaking noises. The trainer was as quiet was it could possibly be. Other notes, there were over 1000 riders at the start and about 800ish at the end, on this map.
