I did a new route today. Firstly, I got up earlier than the previous ride. The weather was cool. I wore a base layer, but I think I would have been fine without one. I'm doing better in the morning, now that my mind and body has adjusted a bit for the early morning rides. Physically, I felt good. My legs were there from the start of the ride. The morning rides feels different than the afternoon. The winds are less and, of course the temperature is different. This makes a big difference for me, especially the less heat. I decided to go up Banducci first. My body was warmed up by the time I reached Route 202. I did good time to the summit. No ailments and my concentration was good. After that I went to Willow Springs. At this time of the day, the wind went a bit West. My average speed going out was significantly less than on my afternoon rides. Although the split time going out was much slower, the average speed for the ride was about the same. After going out to Willow Springs, I did the usual U'ee, and went up Stueber road, to Tehachapi Blvd, and home from there. I had a tailwind going back, so it was real nice and comfortable. Ailments, my right palm has a nasty blister that needs to heal ASAP. My bottom is doing better. My right knee has been a bit sore while off the bike, but hasn't made any impact on my riding. Gear is working well, no mystery bike noises, and all other gadgets working perfectly. Other notes, I ordered some new gloves and shorts. I'm returning the Performance Bike shorts for the Pearlizumi's that I bought and received today. I also sent back 1 Sugoi jersey to Colorado Cyclist, keeping 2 for myself. The Charity Ride app didn't work today. I guess I'll send them an email, perhaps with some advice on how to use it.
