The weather has let up. It’s cold, but bearable, about 50 degrees and winds from the South East. I wore the standard winter kit. Arms, legs, head cap, thick base layer, jacket, face mask, toe covers and full finger gloves. I was nice and toasty. I chose to do the Buffalo Run. The legs felt pretty good to start. I made it to the top of OTR in good time. (I had a tailwind to help me on the climb). From there, I headed to the top of Highline and then around the Buffalo Neighborhood. I hopped back on Highline and made my way to OTR for the return. The descent was relaxing. I pushed over Mariposa and then to the top of Weston where I shut it down.
Concentration was good. Minimal lapses, no gremlins. The morale was good. Perhaps a hint of impatience to start. Balance and form was good. Nutrition was good. I had bowl of oatmeal, half a banana and some grapes for breakfast. After getting up from my morning nap, I had another banana and some gapes. I was reluctant to eat a Clif Bar as I wanted to save it for later. I drank about 75% of my sport drink, no water. Ailments were minimal. Perhaps some slight hand soreness. Gear worked flawlessly. The brakes feel good and quiet. The bike is super silent. No mystery clicks. Other notes, I saw 2 cyclists as I was descending off of OTR.
