Brown Mountain road & Harriet Hunt lake

Woof! A cold start, 31F. Within 2 miles up Brown Mountain road I was in hard packed snow and ice. My previous travel knowledge of this road knows how undulating and steep it can get. Most tracks I was following were made by 4x4's. It was colder in the shade, I didn't bring warmer gloves, so instead I turned around and rode to Harriet Hunt lake. That road was clearer, a little warmer (less shade), and not the depth of snow and ice as on Brown. Much easier ride and a very pretty stop at the lake. There were lots of people off Revilla cutting Xmas trees.
