Sunny and cold start and end to my ride. My start from the end of berth 1 was made special by a whale surfacing just yards away! Construction at the S turn in town is a source of my minor irritation so I left early to avoid traffic. This time of the season means there are many rocks left by road crews pushed out of traffic and into the road sides. Ugh. Lots of ice where the sun doesn't shine. Because I kept my speed low I did not fall even once. At the Revilla road pavement terminance, there is a sign saying "road closed." Of course that challenge inspired me to press on to find out why and where. The gearing on my Giant does not have the range of my other bikes. Just a wee bit further up the incline, I turned back at the Salvage trail end. No joy finding out the reason for the sign. With each mile during this ride I was dodging or jumping frozen vegetation, branches, frozen puddles, and slippery surfaces. No real worries at any time. Typical storm destruction everywhere.
