The weather has warmed up. I didn't need knee warmers. I wore two arm layers, and a thin base layer. I was sufficiently warm for the entire ride. I had a sore stomach when I woke up early in the morning. I took some Pepto and it helped. I was on the verge of tossing my cookies. Fortunately, my stomach calmed down, but it took a while. This delayed my usual schedule. I feel much better now. About the ride... The wind was from the South East. The legs felt good to start. I made it to the summit of OTR in good time. The Banducci Wall had some traffic mitigation. I was near max going over the top. I was able to relax a bit when I reached Arosa. I kept the tempo steady and used my easy gears. No heroics. I was at max going over the top. I made my way around the backside and had fun on the descent. After making it to the summit of Banducci, I took a few moments to recover. I let traffic by and headed back down the mountain. I stopped at the back entrance of the Alpine forest to let a car by. Then I got back on the road. there were about two cars that had to pass, so I slowed down and stayed to the right of the road. Descending off the Banducci Wall was a bit cautious. I let some cars pass and I feathered the brakes to the base. From there, I made my way back to OTR. Descending off OTR was mostly fun and games. I stopped once to say hi to the local horses and took videos and photos. I stopped once more to take photos of some other horses and an alpaca. After that, I headed back home. I pushed over Mariposa and the dig to the top of Weston where I shut it down.
Concentration was good. The morale was good to start. I kept my patience in check. There were no gremlins worth mentioning. Balance and form felt good. I was nice to ride with shorts today. Ailments were minimal. Just the usual hand soreness. Perhaps some triceps soreness on the steep descents. Shaking the arms and hands fixed those problems. Nutrition was good. I had a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast. I drank most of my sport drink, no water. Gear worked flawlessly. Although, I could hear the brake calipers grazing the disc rotor on the steep descents due to mashing the brakes. Otherwise, they self righted a few moments later. Other notes, no cyclists today. There were some friendly people and a runner.
