What a ride, my legs are toast, hope I didn't hurt my left knee! Tomorrow's ride will definitely be a recovery/very easy ride... This was a 2-lap 15 miles per lap ride, nongroup ride. I was riding solo, passing a few riders here and here and get blitz by a few. I was going at a moderate pace and wo riders came up passing me at a pace I could hold, so tagged along with them. Big mistake, this caused them to pick up their pace. At one point we were going much faster than I could handle so I backed off, it was them two leaving me in the dust. I maintained my pace and one of the two dropped off too, I could see on my board that he was going a lot slower than I was, so I went after him and as I passed him, he jumped on my wheel. We worked together and caught up the other rider it was 3 of us again. As we were moving along there was a split in the road and one ride shot off the right as we went straight. it was about 8 miles into this lap I noticed that this rider was one lap ahead of me. We caught up with another rider it was e of us now. The new rider initiated an attack we all took off the was a long one, the new rider just kept going and never looked back, that was the last time we saw him! we had about 5 miles to go before the new lap, we rode alternated the lead and once we passed the start, I was now riding solo. It was a long 15 miles, I passed several riders, and a few passed me, I remember one came up on me slower than the others, I attempted to jump on his wheel, but he was out of my league, so I let him go and in no time, he was out of sight. It was a long lonely ride one mile at a time. I had to really dig deep not to slow down much less not stop! It took everything I had to finish, I was in so much pain, legs burning, left knee throbbing, butt screaming, neck and lower back feeling like they were being ripped apart, I wanted the pain to stop! I wanted the ride to come to an end more. Mile by mile I counted, I played the many races of years gone by how the final miles would feel and what strategies were at play and how to position myself and not get blocked so I would be able to go with the final attack! Be safe out there and enjoy the ride...
