Started out foggy and cold but tolerable with only arm warmers on. Once my blood π©Έ was moving o was good. Had a bowl of 5 minute boiled mixed grains with lots of honey stirred in - Yummy π
2 - 22 oz water bottles - 1 water 1 Mortal Hydration mango electrolyte powder with about 3 tablespoons of honey π―
Also brought an entire Ciabattatta Baguette split, warmed in the convection oven with honey drizzled over both inner halves and vegan parmesa shredded cheese.
After the cheese is warm enough to become sticky I take the halves out of the oven and put the halves back together and cut the whole thinking in 6 ziplock sandwich bag sized sections and put 2 in each rear jersey pocket.
The hot mixed grains was enough fuel to get me to Balboa Harbor at 54 miles.
Misty, cold to cool then eventually sunny βοΈ conditions with almost zero wind all day!

At the harbor I had my first 2 sections of Ciabattata Baguette. π₯ and enjoyed the solitude.
19+ mph average up to this point.
Other than 2 huge - probably 150 cyclist in Christmas ride celebration a few miles a part there was zero fast pelotons out and the few solo guys I caught just
PCH back to SART and wanted to sit on my wheel at 22β24 mph so I just rode them off by increasing the tempo until they ejected themselves.
Topped off at ARTIC again and had more fuel and tapped out the rest of he ride much stronger than Iβve been used to this year.
Due to waning wattage output right after crossing the 100 mile point of 108 and a few small hills & grades before reaching Riverside average dropped to 17.7 but still a good result for over 100 miles at this point my training changes to prepare for 2026.

Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
