Also the twin brother Stumpjumper’s birthday today but got to celebrate yesterday.
Ant wanted to ride up to SF to go to the "other Arsicault". I've only ever been to the one on Arguello so I was game to check out a different location.
Because we were going to Arsicault, I wanted to make sure I had room in my bar bag to bring some home. I struggled with how to dress because it was chilly to start but it was supposed to get quite warm. If I didn't need the room, I would've just dressed how I needed to dress and shed the layers later. In the end, I made the right call. I wore my new Voler M. Wind Jacket without any other layers. Once it was warm enough to take the jacket off, it was warm enough for just shorts and short sleeves. Keeping the wind chill at bay was all I needed until then.
The route was a mix and match of Ant's route and mine so we each got to try something new and this might be THE route to get to and from SF now.
On Sawyer Camp Trail, we came across some turkeys where a male was standing on a female that was sitting on the ground. I didn't see it until I saw the photos but at first Ant was saying the turkey was standing on the other one's head but it was her back.
I was bummed to find out the Dynamo Donuts kiosk in the Marina is only open Wed. - Sun. I thought they were open every day until early afternoon before.
Saw the tire marks from the donuts they were doing for Red Bull Showrun. I expected to see more though.
Originally we were supposed to have lunch at Arsicault as they served sandwiches but Ant decided he wanted to get lunch at Ike's and dessert at Arsicault. In that case, I went to Quick Dog for the first time for burger and fries. I didn't expect their burger to be served in a hot dog bun. It was interesting . I was worried I got to much food but a hot dog bun burger ends up being smaller than a regular burger.
We found a nice spot with tables right across from Arsicault to eat and then went to get our dessert after.
It was a little cooler in that part of the city but after lunch some high clouds were blocking the sun and made it even cooler. Fortunately it warmed up by the time we got through Dogpatch.
We didn't get a tailwind on the way back like we normally should have because of the incoming storm (which also increased the cloud cover and lowered the temperature). I'm just glad Ant was happy to pull. :)
