Tried to beeat the heat, but the himidity was punishing. Still, just a bit shy of 41km at an average speed of 22km/h will do nicely.
450Wh of e-assist, which is 387 kCal, so 980 kCal (the gps calculation, speed over distance) less e-assist means I did 593 kCal of the work. Except... the battery wasn't off the top mark on the display, meaning I wasn't pulling 250w continuously off my 720Wh pile. I'm-a give me at least 750 kCal from my legs (872 Wh) of course, it's probably less because, even though I pedal downhill, it's not the same workrate as uphil. Still...
The last time I rode to Frankston was when I did the 2010 Round The Bay In A Day. (Clocked 10h 4m for 220km that day 😄) Would have come in under 10 but the plods were only allowing 2 riders at a time through each green light, onto a closed road lane, for the last couple a hundred metres. Vic Pol, killjoys since the dawn of time. The made me wait 12 minutes for my turn at a green light.
Anyway, 40km seems to be doable, repeatable and ongoing. Fingers crossed there's not quiet damage happening in the ticker. 😱
