The weather is great. The wind was from the South East when I got out, but turned turbulent. it's about 65-70 ish degrees now. I wore arms, knees, and a thick base layer. The legs felt pretty good to start. I made it to the top of OTR in good average time. The Banducci Wall had some traffic mitigation. I had matches remaining when going over the top. I recovered on the flats and then to the top of Banducci. When I reached the summit, I pulled over to recover. I let traffic by and then headed down the mountain. It was safe, only one car from behind when I was half way down the mountain. The trek through the farmlands went as usual. At this point, the wind turned 180. So, I had a headwind on the way to SS. The way I like it. I made my way around the backside and then down the descent. I put in a good sprint and reached 40 MPH on the descent. I stopped at the local park to bio and then hopped back on. I passed the tunnel in about 1:10 hours. I stopped at the local mini mart to mix a powder drink and then headed back. Nothing special about the return through the farmlands. I had a slight tailwind as I was hoping. I passed Boss Hogs in about 1:35-ish hours. The last climb went well. I kept moderate tempo going and kept my momentum going over the top. I stopped to feed at the summit and made my way to Route 202. Route 202 had traffic, so I let them by before descending. The descent off OTR was fun and games. I pushed over Mariposa and then to the top of Weston where I shut it down.
Concentration was good. I had stuff to think about. Balance and form was good. Ailments were minimal, just the usual hand soreness. Nutrition was good. I had a bowl of oatmeal, half a banana and some grapes for breakfast before departing. I fed a Clif Bar and went through about 1 and a half sport drink with water. Gear worked flawlessly. Other notes, I saw one cyclist and a familiar walker.
