The weather is warming up a tad. It was about 80 degrees, but the wind was on the cool side, from the North West. I wore the standard summer kit. The legs felt ok to start. I made it to the summit of WTR in good average time. I cruised the downhill and put in two modest digs on the risers. The power meter was out of batteries, so I lost metrics on that regard. After reaching the base, I spared no time and headed back up the mountain. The legs felt pretty good. It took a mile or so for them to settle in. The weather wasn't too bad. A bit on the warm side, but not too detracting. I felt better after passing the first few landmarks. I had to keep my patience in check. After the second dip, I the morale felt better. I kept my momentum going over the top. I guessed how many songs to the summit. I got it right. After cresting the summit, I took a few moments to recover and then made my way back home. I shut it down at the top of Weston.
Concentration was good. I had stuff to think about. I had to coach my patience here and there. Nutrition was good. I had a bowl of oatmeal, a banana and some grapes for breakfast. Ailments were minimal. The usual hand soreness and slight heat fatigue. Gear worked flawlessly. I have to swap out the power meter battery. Other notes, no cyclists today, but there was an e-cyclist on his way down as I was ascending. There was a small crowd at the Loop Monument on my way down and up.
