Today went as planned. I got out reasonably early and headed out to Keene. (The weather was clear skies with mild wind from the North West). I made my way up to WTR. The legs felling responsive, but required some warming up. Sufficiently warmed up by the time I reached the summit of the descent. I cruised my way down to Keene. Mostly soft pedaling. I got to the base and turned around. No stoppages. There was a lady about 2 or 3 minutes ahead of me. I stayed with the plan. No red-lining or serious digging. I kept the tempo moderate with the HR below 145 BPM. The climb went well. The legs felt a solid average. Hunger pains were non-existent. But perhaps a hint on the the lacking of energy. I remained hydrated and was careful to mix my Accelerade and water. I passed the lady about 10 to 15 minutes into the climb. There were others descending as I was climbing. None of which bridged. Not to my surprise, as they were at least 20 minutes behind. After reaching the summit, I pulled over and called for bottles and such. I headed to the mailboxes and swapped provisions, (thanks mom). Immediately after, I headed out. The legs were fully warmed up. I stuck with the game plan. No red-lining. So, it was mostly a concentration game. Keeping the ego in check. OTR went quick. The legs felt supple. After making it to the end of OTR, I pulled over and consumed half of my Cliff Bar. Then headed out. I think I had to fiddle with my GoPro Camera a bit, to get the unit charging from my power bank. The Banducci climb went as planned. I was able to conserve energy while keeping the tempo steady. No heroics. I made it to the summit and took a few moments rest. I fed the last half of my Cliff Bar, Hydrated and did a provision check. I realized that I was low on water, so I put into my mind that I will have to stop at SS for more. I headed downhill. Practicing my tuck in some places. Cruised through the farm lands. Made it to SS and into town. I stopped as planned. Picked up a bottle of water. Topped my water bottle off and headed back on the road. The trek through the farmlands went quick. At this point, the wind had picked up a bit. So I had a tail or cross-tailwind. When I reached Boss Hogs, I think I calculated that I was about 5 to 10 minutes down on a 1:20 single ride. No surprise there. I made it to the base of the last climb. I pulled over just before and fed half a power bar. I made my way up the climb, as was the others, I kept the temp moderate, no red-lining. After reaching the summit, I fed my last half of the Power Bar while on the bike and made my way to OTR. From there it was mostly traffic mitigation and fun and games. Overall, a successful ride. No ailments. Body sufficiently responsive. Concentration good. Consuming of my provisions were within tolerances. Gear worked great. Weather cooperated.
