I didn't want to go long because I have work I need to do tomorrow and I wasn't sure how hard I wanted to ride! I started the ride as usually do, a little slow as the computer shows but it never feels that slow, LOL! When I finally made to Rte 70, I decided to pick the pace up to something comfortable and doable. I felt decent so Slowly upped the pace and try to keep the cadence in the mid to upper 80's. The temp was cool, perfect for me and was breezy, not windy, I could feel the extra effort required. I was thinking of doing between 10-20 miles. I passed by the ten mile, so it was 20 miles. I'm humming along, feeling good about the ride, everything was going perfect, my body wasn't yelling at me... it was all great! I get to the 20 miles turn around so I decided to do 25 miles. so I get to the turn around and there were a line of cars coming at me then a line of cars behind me, so now it was going to be over 25, I thought about 30 miles but decided to keep it closer to 26-27 miles. I had a slow turn around and the head wind seemed to slow me down some. I decided to put more power output, thus I was now determine to keep the as strong as I was able. With about 10 miles to go my hands started get numb, so I had to move them around the bar. At one point I was on the drops and I swore part on my bar must have broke of because part of my palm felt like it was missing. I move my hand around a little but scare I would miss the bar and fall. I looked down and the bar was still there, so half of my hand had went numb! I moved my hands back to the hoods. I finally get to the turn of with 4 miles to go. I got serious and made 2 goals to keep my speed over 20 mph and my watts over 200. I had been able to do this in a few years, mainly because I couldn't ride that much because of some health issues I was going thru! I kept a close eye on my Garmin, making sure I didn't slow down or eased up on the Power. I wasn't sure I was going to be able to keep up the effort, but I was going to give it my best. I get to the part of the road that is a little choppy and where I always have issues maintaining my speed and output. I was determined and made it thru the area to the turn off to my home. I was so happy that I was able to complete this ride a I did, what a great ride for a perfect night, Smiling big time! Be safe out there, enjoy the ride and finish with a huge smile of success!
