What an enjoyable day for a bike ride! The air was cool, and blue skies. I wore 2 base layers, arms, knees and Cap. I put my cap on when I reached the summit of Banducci. My legs felt good from the beginning. I held a good tempo all the way to Route 202. I eased off a bit as I reached Route 202, the downhill on Highline and then picked up the tempo to the top of Highline (1 mile climb). I turned around at the top of Highline and proceeded to Banucci. I started modest going up the Banducci wall. I had a headwind at that point. I picked up the pace as I progressed up the wall. Once over the top I slowed the tempo down across the false flats. I picked up the tempo when the gradient pitched up. I held that tempo all the way to the summit. I turned around at the summit and headed downhill. From that point it was mostly fun and games until I reached Mariposa. I added the summit of OTR to get in a few extra miles. The headwind was a bit nasty at that point. I was out of the saddle alot. I was gassed when I reached the top. The return trip was a real treat. I reached 40 mph going downhill and into the wind. I stopped by the mailboxes, got the mail and headed back home. Concentration was spot on. I don't think it could have gone better. My thoughts were floating around some ideas that I've been having. That helped a lot. Ailments were next to none. Some soreness when I reached the summit of Banducci, but almost not worth mentioning. Gear is working well. The gopro was off when I reached the summit of Banducci. Probably due to user error. Other notes, I saw one other cyclist and Marcia as I was headed up OTR.
