The weather was great today. It's starting to look like spring. In the upper 60's with winds from the south. I decided to do Willow Springs and I added WTR summit in the end. I felt pretty good from the start. I did good time to Route 202. Being that the winds were from the south east, I did modest tempo to Willow Springs. It was one of those stretches of road that just seemed to go on forever. I made it to Willow Springs in one piece. On the return, I started with modest tempo to allow my body to recover. I then increased the tempo to no less than moderate. I was able to keep the tempo high over the top of Highline. After the last kicker, it was mostly fun and games. I felt pretty good so I decided to add WTR summit. The wind was from the south still, so I was able to hammer the ascent. The return trip was mostly smooth pedaling. Recovering and stretching. Concentration was a mixed bag of stuff. There were some nasty gremlins out there today. Fortunately, I was able to keep it together and maintain my concentration for the majority of the ride. I had some lapses of concentration that took a minute to shake off. Overall, I made it back in one piece and I accomplished what I set out to do. Ailments consisted of lower back pain and right hand numbnesss. The hand numbness was mitigated by making a fist and relaxing. I had to do this on several occasions. The lower back pain was mitigated by stretching while on the bike going downhill or approaching a stop. Gear is working well. The bike was making some noises. I reseated the rear wheel. I think that took car of the majority of the mystery noises. Other notes, there was a glider and tow plane in the air while I was on my way back on Willow Springs.
