Fantastic weather today! Low 70's, a nice breeze from the north. I wore 1 base layer. My legs were a bit heavy to start, but were quickly warmed up by the time I reached OTR. I did moderate tempo for most of the OTR leg and I gave it a kick over the first riser. I stopped at the Route 202 juncture to adjust my GPS. For some reason, it's displaying the incorrect page setting. More tinkering on that later! I climbed Banducci with some reservation in mind. I had a headwind, so there wasn't a point in hammering. I was able to keep a good pace going out to SS. I was doing good time and wanted to keep my momentum going. I don't remember when I reached the SS tunnel as I was enjoying the 40mph dive down the backside of SS. Nevertheless, I cruised it through SS and headed out back. I think I made it out in around 1:03 and change. I started back on Banducci modest and kept it there to test the nature of the winds. When I reached Pelisser, I was able to lift the pace. I reached Boss Hogs in about 1:17 and change. I had a generous tailwind at that point. I did good time over the CVR climb and pushed it over the top. I flew through the flat-lands. After reaching Route 202, it was mostly fun and games all the way back home. Ailments consisted mostly of lower back soreness. It was almost to the point where I had to stop and recover. I was able to mitigate it by stretching at every moment. Fortunately, it didn't escalate. I had some soreness in my left outer knee as I was going through OTR (on the return). My concentration was spot on. I had some lapses here and there and there were some gremlins. But I was able to hold it together. Balance felt good today. I was on top of the pedals most of the way. Gear is working well, with the exception of the GPS. I've yet to pin-point why it has problems with regards to the pages that I've configured. The bike had almost no mystery noises. Before the ride, I oiled the chain and reseated the rear and front wheels. I also oiled my cleats.
