Today's weather was a bit unusual. When I stepped outside, it felt around mid 50's. When I got out it was more of the same, but as I was descending WTR, it started to get warmer fast. I ended up wearing 1 base layer, arms and knees. I cruised the downhill, soft pedaling and coasting. When I reached the base, I decided to ride up to the Chavez Center and remove my arm and knee warmers. After that, I commenced the climb with modest tempo. My legs felt a little bit better than average out the front door. By the time I reached the base of Keene, my legs were cold and had to get warmed up again. The first mile or two was sluggish. But, I felt better as the ride went on. I was getting hot as I reached the open area. Fortunately, I was able to keep that under control by unzipping my jersey half way. The remainder of the climb was moderate, some increased in tempo here and there, out of the saddle where necessary. My concentration was very good, in the zone for most of the ride. Balance and form was also very good. Ailments were next to none. Gear is working well. Overall it was a good average ride.
