The weather is pretty good now. Still some smoke in the air, but the temperature was right. The legs didn't feel too good today. Somewhat sluggish from the start. It was apparent, as I was going up OTR, that I was going to have a slow day. I made it to the summit in less than average time. I tried to take it easy up the Banducci wall. Pretty much the same for the remainder of the climb. I made it to the summit in about 40 minutes. The GoPro showed about 65% charge remaining. I let traffic by and then headed downhill. At least the wind was going the direction I favor. I made my way to SS. Keeping the tempo moderate and steady. When I reached SS, I stretched a bit and then headed up the backside. The downhill was fun. I zipped through town and then headed back. I forgot to check the time when I passed through the tunnel. I estimate that it was around 1:04-ish hours. I headed back through the farmlands. I made it to Boss Hogs in about 1:30 hours. Super slow today. The last climb wasn't too bad. I pulled over at the summit to swap out the GoPro battery. From there, I headed to Route 202, with some traffic mitigation. On to OTR and back. Concentration was good, not great. I was having to keep my mind occupied, given that today was a slow day. Balance and form was pretty good. Ailments was probably the better of things. Minimal, some calf soreness at the start. Minimal knee soreness. Gear worked great. No issues there. Nutrition was spot on. I went through my entire Gatorade bottle, and most of my water. Other notes, there were over a dozen riders that I crossed paths with. I'm still un-decided about the Spooktakular ride. It's all about the Corona virus situation. Is it worth the risk? What kind of risk am I going to experience. What should I carry? I need to minimize the risk, for it to be worthwhile. In terms of training, I'm complete. I'm reasonably confident that I can do it. Assuming I'm going to, I'll be tapering over the next 3 to 5 days, leading up to Oct 24th.
