My stomach was aching in the late morning, I tried to sleep it off. It subsided a bit. I ended up getting out after noon time. Today's timer was off by a minute or two because I forgot to turn on the GPS till I got down the block. The weather was comfortable and warm, but not scorching. There was a bit of haze, so that kept the sun from glaring down. Temperature in the 80's, winds from the North West. I wore the standard kit. Today's ride was all about dialing in the cleats. I started out by putting the cleats in the center position. After riding for 5 minutes, I noticed a huge difference, for the worse. When out of the saddle, my right shoe would rub against the crank arm. I stopped to adjust it. I put the cleat in the outer most position. Tried it again. It was even worse. So, I put it in the position that I had before. I think it was in the inner position. I have to double check. The current position seems to be my favorite. My legs were a bit heavy to start. My HR was slower than usual. I don't think I got above 155 bpm today. I cruised it to Keene, just getting a feel for my cleat position. I was satisfied how it felt, so I went the whole way down and started the climb. The climb was done mostly moderate tempo. I was hot in some places, I had to adjust my pace here and there. I felt pretty good overall. Concentration was good. Very few lapses. Balance and form was what I was working on today. The current cleat position seems to be working the best. I may need to make adjustments here and there. Ailments were next to none. Gear is working great. I got my new 64GB SD card and used it on today's ride. The camera didn't complain, so it looked like it worked. Will have to try it on the next ride or two. I received the second battery, charged it and tried it on today's ride. No problems there. I set the Gopro to turn on and automatically record upon pressing the shutter button. I received the new chain today, so I will likely install it tomorrow. My rear inner-tube's valve broke as I was inflating it today. I had to replace it before I started the ride. I have 3 more spares in my box of goodies. Will likely buy more by the end of the month. Other notes, no cyclists today.
