I went riding with Peggy today. Our last ride for the vacation. The weather was warm, but not exactly scorching. In the 80's with winds from the North West. So, we had a tailwind on the way back. I cruised the downhill and regrouped with Peggy on every riser and at the bottom. After that we went at our own pace on the ascent. I wanted to get a good workout today. I did high tempo for most of the ride. My HR was in the 150's for most of the climb. I felt good. My body was responding well. Concentration was spot on, I was in the zone for most of the ride. Balance and form also felt good today. Ailments were minimal, some numbness in the right hand and saddle soreness when I neared the summit. The saddle soreness wasn't too bad, I treated it when I got back and cleaned up. Gear is working well. I noticed some slight skipping in the chain. This has been occurring about every hour or two. I'm not sure what to make of it. Worse case scenario, I'll have to get something new like chain, or gears. Other notes, there was a nice size train making its way up just as I past the loop monument. There must have been 5 cars and a crowd watching it. They got lucky. The reason my milage was more than usual was because I did some laps near the summit to stay warmed up till Peggy reached the summit.
