The weather is a bit warm, but manageable. Winds from the North West. A good day for Keene and then some. The legs felt pretty good to start. They needed a sufficient warmup. I brought a third bottle and stashed it in the mail locker. I made it to the summit of the descent in good average time. I cruised the downhill. I put in two modest digs over the risers. When I reached the base, I checked the GoPro battery. It was at 62%. I forgot to connect it to the battery bank, so it was running on the internal battery till then. The ascent went well. I was able to stay in the moment and not think too much about "am I there yet". The landmarks went quick. The music definitely helped. I was able to keep high tempo going over the top. I took a breather for a minute or two as I was making my way to the mail lockers. After making it there, I refilled my Gatorade bottle. I checked the GoPro battery. It was steady at 62%. Shortly after, I got back on the road. The legs were warmed up. The ascent up OTR went as planned. I climbed with moderate tempo. Some places more than others. I wasn't paying too much attention to the elapsed time. The Banducci summit went well. minimal traffic mitigation. When I reached the Alpine Forest, I was able to relax a bit. Knowing that this was the last major climb of the day. I settled into a tempo. When I approached the street bumps, I increased the tempo a bit. I kept the momentum going all the way to Lemans. I was at my max when I got there. From there, I made my way around the backside. Having fun on the descents. When I reached Banducci, I road to the summit and took a few moments rest. The GoPro showed the battery being in charge mode. I let traffic by, hydrated, and headed down the mountain. Descending off the Banducci Wall was fun! I let off the brakes and rolled all the way to the base. I think I reached over 40 MPH. When I reached OTR, it was mostly fun and games. Concentration was better today then the previous ride. The music kept me company, I had a few things to think about, too. Balance and form was good. Ailments, some hand soreness and numbness. Nutrition was good. No hunger signs. I consumed about 2/3rds of my Gatorade, plus another 2/3rds from the first bottle. Other notes, I think I saw one cyclist down the road as I was putting my bottle into the locker, before heading to Keene. There was a train making its way up the Loop. I pulled over to take photos. No one was at the monument lookout point.
