Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time. Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.

Today was another big ride for me. I decided to do the same course I did last week. The weather was excellent. In the 70's. Mild winds from the North West. I brought 3 bottles. The legs felt pretty good to start. I reached the end of OTR in good average time. I was sufficiently warmed up by that time. I made my way to Highline, did the mile climb and headed out to WS. I was doing no more than moderate tempo. I had quite a ways to go. I reached the turn-around and checked the GoPro battery. It was a bit more depleted than I expected, so I had to keep an eye on it. As I was making my way back, I was getting the bio break signs. So, I found a nice place in the brush to conduct my business. I got back on the road, feeling much better. When I was approaching the Highline mile climb (on the way back), I noticed my right calf was giving signs of cramping. I was very confused as to why it was giving signs so early in the ride. I put in my mind that it may subside. When I reached the top of the climb, I pulled over to check the GoPro battery. It was holding steady. I had no problems with it from that point on. In the meantime, I took a brief moment to massage the calf muscle, and give it a few moments rest. Shortly after, I got back on the road. By the time I reached Banducci, the cramping signs had gone away. My morale lifted quite a bit, at that point. The Banducci Wall went well. I kept it below the red-zone. There was minimal traffic mitigation. The Alpine Forest climb went quick. My body was responding well. I was near maximum as I reached Lemans. I made my way around the backside, keeping in mind to save some matches. After making it to the Banducci Summit, I pulled over for a few moments. I checked the GoPro battery. It was holding steady. I was there for no more than 2 minutes. I made my way down the mountain. Doing my tuck and practicing my descending skills. The trek to SS went pretty fast. I was stretching now and again. Keeping an eye on the right calf. It felt supple. The climb going around the backside of SS confirmed that the leg was going to cooperate. I descended into SS. I think I reached the tunnel in 2:10 hours, or so. I zipped through town and headed back. The wind was mild. Perhaps a bit turbulent as I never got a perfect tailwind. I don't remember my time when I reached Boss Hogs. I think it took about 25 or 26 minutes to get from the SS tunnel to Boss Hogs. Give or take. At that point, I looked back and I saw two cyclists from behind. They were about 3 or 4 hundred yards behind. I didn't know if they were going to bridge, so I just kept doing what I was doing. The last climb was very good. I think I got a second wind as the legs felt responsive. I had the incentive to stay ahead of the cyclists from behind. I reached the summit (keeping the power down) and they still somewhere behind. Somewhat of a plus to my morale and a bit to my ego. After reaching the summit, I noticed that I wasn't hungry. I was drinking my Gatorade frequently up until that point. So, I decided not to feed. I made my way to Route 202, hopped on and reached OTR. From that point it was mostly fun and games to home. Concentration was very good. I had stuff to think about and I was looking forward to this early morning ride. Balance and form was good. I think the cleat position is working well. Ailments, the right calf muscle complaining after an hour in the saddle. Hand numbness as I was climbing the Alpine Forest. Gear worked good. The GoPro took a while to start charging from the battery bank, but eventually did, and I never had to swap out the battery. Nutrition was perfect. I had two bottles of Gatorade, some water and I didn't have to feed. I had no signs of bonking when I made it home. Other notes, I saw at least 8 cyclists today.
