Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time. Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.

So, today was a big one. I decided on a triple. I was wondering about the weather. I was going to wear my winter kit, but decided at the last moment to not wear a jacket or leg warmers. I wore 2 base layers, arms, knees, head cap, face mask. I brought three bottles. I started by going to the mail locker and leaving a bottle of Gatorade in there. I then made my way to the summit of Keene. I made it there in good time. The wind was heading north at this time. I cruised the downhill while trying to stay relaxed for what was to be a day with lots of climbing. I was laying down the strategy in the meantime. When I reached the base, I took a few moments to check the GoPro battery. It was fully charged. The temperature was cold, but I knew I was going to warm up during the ascent. As I was making my way up the climb, I decided to take a nature break. From there, it was non-stop climbing. The miles went fast. The wind shifted a bit. So, I had a mild tailwind at this point. The landmarks came and went. I was keeping my mind on the overall picture. The legs were responding well. No heavy legs today. That helped the morale. After making it to the summit, I was able to take a breather. I made my way down to the lockers while soft-pedaling the downhill. When I reached the mail lockers, I grabbed the extra bottle and put it onto my extra fid-lock on the fork. I removed my knee warmers and head cap. I stashed them in the mail locker. (I have to pick it up after lunch). I made my way to OTR. The legs were continuing to be responsive. The cool air definitely helped. I don't recall the time to the top of OTR, but it was likely no less than average. I checked the GoPro battery. I think it was slightly depleted, so I had to reseat the charging cable. From there, I headed up the Banducci Wall. There was some traffic mitigation. I was using my gears as was needed. The Alpine forest felt good. The dense air helped a ton. The speed bumps got there quick! I made my way around the backside and to the Banducci Summit. I decided to feed a Cliff Bar while resting. I think I checked the GoPro battery. It was holding its charge as far as I can remember. After the brief rest, I headed down the mountain. I reached 40 MPH at one point. (I just now remembered that the GPS was not reading the wattages. I tried pairing it before climbing Banducci, but no luck. I think it had to do with having it paired with the phone). I made my way to SS. I took a bio break along the way at a porta-potty (seemingly placed there perfectly). When I reached SS, I was having to stretch the legs. The left shin was starting to show signs of soreness, so I kept stretching to keep it warm and relaxed. Going around SS through the backside was more or less the same. I don't recall the time to the tunnel, but it was around 2:05 - 2:10 hours. I zipped through town and headed back through the farmlands. I had a nice tailwind on the way back, so the return trip went fast. The last climb went as planned. I was able to hold moderate tempo and mitigate the left shin muscle. I held this pace to the summit, no digs. The false flat was a good place to recover. When I arrived at Route 202, I did some traffic mitigation and got back to OTR. From there, I was a happy camper. Mostly fun and games. No extra laps to make it a bonified 50 mi ride. I put in enough hours into the saddle. Concentration was good. I had some things to think about and the morale felt good. The body was responding well. Ailments, some hand soreness. My left shoulder was a bit sore while climbing Keene, but never escalated. Some left shin soreness when I reached SS. Balance and form felt good. Gear worked good, other than the lack of power metrics. Nutrition was good. I made it on one Cliff Bar and that was sufficient. I drank about one and a third Gatorade and half water. The second bottle of Gatorade was from the non-powder drink. It was a bit on the surgery side, so I was having to dilute it by drinking water. Other notes, I saw some cyclists as I was descending and ascending Keene.
