The weather continues to be great. I decided to head to the Alpine Forest summit n back. The legs felt pretty good from the start. I made it to the summit of OTR in good average time. When I got there, I removed my headcap and then headed up Banducci. Some traffic mitigation along the way. I was within my limits. I felt better in the morale when I reached the Alpine Forest, Alps. The climb went fast. Before I knew it, I was at the speed bumps. My HR was well within my limits when I reached Lemans. I saw 145 BPM on the gps. From there, it was the trek around the backside. I reached 42 MPH on one of the downhill sections. I headed to the summit of Banducci. Apparently, they were doing more road construction. I couldn't determine the extent of the work, but it was on the shoulder. I had to wait a few minutes till I could reach the summit (just a hundred yards ahead). Once there, I took a quick peak. Definitely something other than just the turnout. Will have to investigate in a few rides from now. After quickly turning around, I headed down the mountain. Descending off the Banducci Wall was a treat. Obtaining 40+ MPH on the way down. From there it was mostly fun and games after reaching OTR. Concentration was good. The morale was good. I want to ride Caliente on the weekend and I'm trying to access my fitness level. It feels good, but Caliente is a tough ride. From today's ride, I can tell that I'm not 100% recovered from the past two days riding and strength training. I'm going to ride Keene next and see how the body responds. I'll decide where to go from there. Ailments were minimal. Some hand soreness. Balance and form was good. Gear worked perfect. Nutrition was good. I had about half my Gatorade and a few sips of water. Other notes, no other cyclists today.
