Great day for a ride. I had plenty of sleep and got out the door before noon. It's in the 60's, winds from the North West. The legs felt pretty good to start. My lower right back is a bit sore, but didn't bother me during the ride. I wanted to put in some climbing miles to prepare for the Caliente ride, next week. I made it to the summit of OTR in good time. The Banducci wall was half traffic mitigation. I was using my lowest gears as usual. The Alpine Forest went fast. The air was cool and dense. I made it to the summit at near maximum, but I felt good. I made my way around the backside and then to the summit. I took a few moments rest, let the traffic by and then headed back down the mountain. From there, I headed up to the Highline summit, made a right turn at the summit onto a residential street. I followed the street to the end. It was short but steep climb. From there, I made my way back to Highline and then to OTR. It was mostly relaxed riding, just getting over Mariposa was the last measurable effort. Concentration was good. The morale felt good. I had a few things to think about. Balance and form was good. Ailments were minimal. A hint of right lower back soreness that never escalated or hindered. Nutrition was good. I had about half my Gatorade, no water. Gear worked flawless. No creaks from the bike today. Other notes, no other cyclists. I saw a Cmax at the Alpine Forest. It looks just like mine.
