We had a couple visitors last night! Oh my goodness what a mess. So thankful my bag wasn’t damaged at all. It was a long hard day, starting out with gravel. We ended up in gravel again so Cliff & Kathy turned around to take a more sane route, I chose adventure. Really should have had a mountain bike for what I did, it was absolute insanity and I’m so glad I did it. 😁😁😁 Almost 25 mi of gravel, rock, steep! Dee rode with Dave to the airport this morning to pick up Tom , it felt like family coming home and was so good to get to camp tonight and see him here! Thanks to Dave driving, Tom will get to ride full-time this year. A few thoughts about bugs and roadkill. I saw 16 dead armadillos over the past 4 days. Way too up close and personal from a bike, gross and stinky! I got more little green flying insects in my eyes today than all rides combined, no idea how they can get around my tight fitting glasses and into my eyes! They also went up my nose, I’ve eaten plenty, and one went down my trachea today, I must’ve been breathing with my mouth open when he collided with the back of my throat.
