I was thinking about going to the Alpine Forest, but the wind conditions changed my mind. The wind was headed West today. So, I figured I'd go to Willow Springs since I haven't been there in a while. The legs felt better today. I don't recall the time I posted at the top of OTR, but it was likely good average time. The trek to WS was enjoyable. The wind was moderate. I think I was doing no less than moderate up Highline, on the outbound. I kept the tempo going. Out of the saddle to stretch. No red-lining it. After making it to the turn-around point, I spared no time and headed back. I was a bit disappointed by the wind conditions. I never got the nice tailwind that I wanted. Nevertheless, I was doing over 15 MPH the whole way back, so the return trip went quick. After making it back to OTR, I was able to relax and enjoy the remainder of the ride. Concentration was good. The morale felt good going into the ride. Few lapses, minimal gremlins. Balance and form was good. Ailments were minimal. I had a sore right calf at the start of the ride. It dissipated as the ride went on. Nutrition was good. I had all of my Gatorade and some water. Gear worked flawless. Other notes, I saw two cyclists, one casual, and the there to my better.
