I woke up with absolutely no energy, was the last rider out of camp by far, and rode pretty slowly. It’s a deep exhaustion from still pushing hard while sick etc. All day I wanted nothing more than to pull over and curl up in the grass to the side and take a nap, but I knew everyone would be stopping to see if I was okay🤗. I was extremely weary at my halfway point, and a beautiful burgundy Tesla (that matches my bike😁) pulled alongside me and the driver leaned way over to the open window to give me a thumbs up, that gesture encouraged me more than she could know.
I don’t know if I’ve ever had this much elevation gain in one day. It’s definitely getting colder in the evenings and mornings, last night we were at 6,000’ and tonight we are at 10,000’. Mornings are in the 40°s.
Tomorrow we climb to 12,000’, I’m guessing at Breckenridge, then downhill!
I just found out we officially entered the Rockies Wed afternoon in Pueblo. That feels pretty amazing.
So the things they tried with my bike did not solve it. It continues to cut out & get worse, and so I was also discouraged today wondering if I’ll get to finish the trip. There’s something wrong in the electrical communication and I’m thinking just replace the entire battery cable tomorrow, check the other connections, and be done with it! I called Bosch and found shops in Frisco along our way and Vail, not along our way. Don’t know if they will take me in without a wait period. We’ll see what tomorrow holds, I’ll try to arrive in Frisco at their 9:00 opening time.
I was reminded again today of the Serenity prayer …
Peace in my spirit to accept what I cannot change,
Courage to change what I can,
Wisdom to know the difference.
I still have my cold, but am showered and getting to bed on time tonight, my cot feels good!
Oh! I also wanted to add that it rained absolutely all around me, in every single direction for hours, and heavy black gray clouds over me, and I never got rained on! I rode through areas that had gotten 🌧 but stopped before I got there.😊
Good night to you!💕 Terri

I like the correlation with the direction of your route and the increase in elevation. Both are straight up. 70 miles and 5653 ft in climb. What an amazing feet. You are doing an amazing job.
Look at that snow in the mountains, that looks cold… Burrr!
That’s a crazy elevation gain for how I was feeling!
