Today was great! Sunny, about 80 degrees, winds from the North West. Perfect for a Keene n Back ride. The legs felt good from the start. I made it to the top of the descent in good time. I cruised the downhill and put in two good digs on the risers. I don't recall the time I posted when I reached the base. Nevertheless, I turned around and got on with business. The usual bit of impatient feelings were there to start, but disipated by the time I got into the guantlet. I stopped once to remove a huge pine cone from the middle of the street. From there, it was non-stop. I was doing no less than moderate tempo. I picked it up as the ride went on. The body responded well. I was counting the songs as I was on the upper slopes. I kept the tempo going over the top as I was near maximum. From there, it was a bit of recovery and the usual grind up Weston followed by the cooldown. Concentration was good. I had some stuff to think about. The morale was good, too. Balance and form was good. I noticed that I'm putting out more power while in the saddle than before. Even comparable to out of the saddle climbing. Ailments, some hand numbness. Nutrition was good. No hunger signs. I had most of my Gatorade. I filled with the "Cool" blue flavor. Definitely helped the morale. Gear worked flawless. Other notes, I saw one cyclist as I was reaching the top of the descent. There were a few spectators at the Loop Monument as I was on my way down. A train was on its way up as I was near the base.
