Tired of burbs, headed out to the Agricultural Reserve part of the county, with narrow country roads, lots less traffic, broad vistas and some climbing. Oh and 8 miles of green tunnel, aka C&O towpath. Since the resurfacing it's smooooth and no longer muddy and very nice ... and mind numbing alone. Just mile after mile of path, with overgrown canal on one side and river non-views on the other. Soooo much green. Not even any lock remnants in that section... flaaaat. On the other hand, it's a good way to get in some easy miles physically, even if the mental challenge is a struggle. Hot and humid and somehow escaped all the pop-up showers farther south and east in the county, validating the choice to ride there ... Body feels months and months behind where it should be, but then there simply hasn't been as much riding as in years past. Gotta be more disciplined or the 65 mile ride in August is gonna be a death march.
