Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.

Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time. Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.

Today's weather was hot, but less than the previous ride. Winds from the North West, somewhat cool. I wore the standard kit with one base layer. I felt average going out the door. It took me 15 to 20 minutes to get warmed up and acclimated to the weather. I was good to go by the time I reached the end of OTR. I began the Banducci wall moderate and then settled into a steady pace. A moderate push over the top. The false flat was the usual reprieve/stretching zone. The remainder of the climb was mostly moderate to good tempo, all the while negotiating the traffic from behind. Once at the summit, I took a few moments, hydrated and let traffic by. When I began the descent, a car was behind, so I used the turnout to let them by. Otherwise it was fun and games, doing my tuck thing. The trek to SS was moderate tempo. Well within my limits, looking around for traffic. I was able to hold good tempo going through the back of SS, starting with moderate. The descent was a welcome reprieve. Another tuck zone. I made it to the tunnel at around 1:03 hours. I did hte usual push through SS and out just as quick. Banducci return was moderate tempo. I was focusing on my form. Somewhat displaced, but not too bad. Once on the farm roads, I was able to settle into my tempo without worrying to much about traffic. I made it to Boss Hogs in about 1:23ish. I wasn't concerned about time today. Around this time, I noticed my GPS lost the signal to my cell phone. I was going to stop later in the ride to diagnose the problem, but I forgot. I was just too into what I was into. I guess I thought the signal would come back. The last climb was mostly good tempo. I burnt a match or two on the ascent. A modest push over the top. The last false flat was a welcome reprieve, especially with the wind going the right direction. Route 202 was fun this time. Not too much traffic till the last 300 to 400 yards. I was able to sprint up to about 36MPH to OTR. From there it was fun and games and the push over Mariposa. Concentration was very good. Few lapses. Ailments were minimal. I have a calass (sp?) on my left hand that's a bit sore. I had to adjust my position on the handlebars to avoid further agitation. Some soreness in the right calf that came and went. Some mild soreness in the left hip. Right hand numbness. Balance and form felt pretty good, some places like the return on Banducci felt off. Gear is working well with the exception of the loss in signal from cell phone to GPS. Other notes, I saw 2 or 3 cyclists today.
