Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time. Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.

Today's weather was warm, but comfortable. I'd say around 80's with winds from the North West. I wore the standard kit with 1 base layer. I decided to do Keene first. My legs felt a bit heavy to start. I cruised it to the top of the descent in average time. The downhill was mostly soft-pedaling. Out of the saddle where needed. The ascent was somewhat mixed with goods and bads. The first half felt good. I was able to put the power down where needed. Such was the case all the way past the Loop Monument. After that, about a mile later, I noticed that my right calf was getting sore. Not a cramp, but seemed like it was leading up to one. So, I adjust the pace. Favoring my left leg when needed. I can't remember when it subsided, but eventually it did. I felt good going up Keene and I had something left in the tank for the remainder of the ride. After summiting, I made my way down WTR, soft pedaling and stretching all the while. Then came OTR. I was warmed up, so it felt consistent for the entire leg. I was playing this ride by ear. I knew I wanted to go to WS after Keene, but was contemplating going up Banducci after-wards. I ended up adding Banducci. I did good time to the summit of Highline, mile climb. When I reached the top, I stopped, refilled my bottles, stretched some, and then made my way down to WS. I was cruising at moderate tempo all the way to the turn-around point. Once there, I turned around and began the return leg with modest tempo. About 1 mile into the return, I lifted the pace to moderate. Then the last kickers, I was putting moderate and good tempo over the summit. At this point, my criteria for doing Banducci was two-fold. I needed to have something left to give and I also needed provisions to make it there and back. It was a close call. I felt up for it, physically, but my provisions were running low. I less than a half bottle of Cytomax and water. My decision was to do the wall and see what I had left. The wall started with moderate tempo. I was already warmed up, so it didn't take much time for my legs to settle into a sustainable tempo. After about half way up the wall, I was able to put more power down. I was in my 28T most of the time, but had to put it into my 32T here and there. After making it up the wall, I decided to go for it. I had just enough provisions. The false flat was my recovery zone. Doing modest tempo, stretching and the like. I did moderate to good tempo for the remainder of the climb. Once at the summit, I took a minute breather, stretched and then headed down. The remainder of the ride was mostly fun and games going downhill. I did the usual effort over Mariposa and the the trip home. Concentration was spot on. Few lapses. Some wind hikers near the Banducci descent. Otherwise pleasant. Balance and form was good, some places out of balance such as the false flat on the return from Banducci. That section of road always tests my balance. I'm not sure why, maybe the off camber of the road and the wind. More tweeking to be done. Overall, I'm favoring the slight adjustment to my right cleat. Ailments consisted of some right calf soreness, nearing a cramp that never escalated, numbness in the right hand, some hip soreness, sore hands, some lower back soreness. My neck is still hurting, but much better. The handlebar tape isn't as forgiving as the cork tape. Will have to see how it does in the next few weeks. Gear is working well, no issues. Other notes... I'm planning for the tripple. I wasn't too far off from a tripple today. So, I think I'm going to be up for it soon. My plan is to do a Tour de Teh (SS,R) ride on Monday, then a tripple on Wednesday (doing Keene first). I saw about 4 cyclists today.
