Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.

Well, today was another triple. I got up early, around 6:45ish and was able to get an early start. The weather was warm, but comfortable, winds from the north west. I wore the standard kit with 1 base layer. I felt good going out the door. The wind was minimal at this point, so I was able to reach the top of the first descent in above average time. The descent was mostly soft pedaling and getting my mind prepared for what lay ahead. The true test today was from the stand point of ailments. What was going to hurt? What was going to need mitigation. When I got to the base of the descent, I decided to take a quick bio break. Shortly after, I commenced the climb. I started modest and spent some matches going over the steeper sections. When I passed the Loop Monument, I knew I was in good shape for the remainder of the ride. I was able to get into a good rythm and keep my momentum going. The first ailment was my left hip. In the last 1/4 of the climb, it became apparent that my left hip was going to be the primary ailment of the day. Fortunately, it did not escalate at this point. I took a few minutes break at the top, hydrating and stretching a bit. Afterwards, I made my way down to the mail locker and swapped out bottles. From there it was OTR. I think I felt more lively going up OTR than usual. It no doubt had to do with having climbed Keene. My legs and cardio was sufficiently warmed up. After making it to the end of OTR, I stopped in the shade and ate half a power bar. I wasn't hungry, but I was thinking about the long trip that lay ahead. Once on Highline, I was able to make my way up the mile climb at a good pace. Then the trip to WS. Mostly moderate tempo, practicing form. When I reached the turn-around point, I kept going. In my mind, I knew I was going to stop when I reached the Alpine Forest, or the top of Banducci. So, I made my way back, keeping a good pace. My legs felt good at this point, so I was able to put more effort than the last time. When I reached Banducci, I was able to hold a solid pace going up the wall. Moderate, to good, to high tempo over the top. I decided to do the Alpine forest in order to get used to the back to back climbs. The Alpine forest climb felt good. My legs were responding well. But, my left hip started to act up again. I ended up stopping at Alps Road. I took a couple minutes to stretch and hydrate. I commenced shortly after. From this point to the summit was a steep section that was around half a mile at most. Then the rolling descent. This will be a danger zone for the GranFondo. When I reached the summit of Banducci, I took a few minutes break, stretched and refilled my bottles. The descent was a pleasure, able to practice my tuck. I got onto the flat roads to SS and put it into auto pilot. Mostly getting my form honed in. The climb to the rear entrance was mostly moderate to good tempo over the top. I was able to stretch on the false flat just prior. Then I did the quick descent and whipped through the town. The road back was mostly moderate tempo, mitigating the traffic. Then the roads through the farm lands. My legs were feeling good, so I was able to keep a nice steady tempo and let my mind enter a zen state. I saved a match for the last climb. I started moderate and held a good tempo for the majority of the climb. My left hip was acting up, but not so much. Again, mitigatable, but at this point, I'm looking to adjust my left cleat. The false flat was my stretching / recovery zone. Then Route 202, the usual traffic mitigation, sprint to OTR. OTR return was mostlly fun and games. I did the push over Mariposa and then the automatic pilot trip back home. Concentration was good today, I'm happy how it's coming along. I was in the zone for the most part and I didn't have to struggle. Ailments consisted mostly of left hip soreness. Some signs of cramping in the right calf as I was ascending the last climb. My left hand has some callass lesions that I'm trying to treat. I was having to use different hand positions on the bars. My right middle finger took some damage. A bit of an abrassion sore. It doesn't hurt now, so I think it will heal fast. My neck is still sore, but I'm able to look around without much discomfort. Balance and form is coming along, but I'm convinced that I need to adjust something in the left leg, likely the cleat. Gear worked flawless. Although the Charity app didn't work, but I think that was due to the fact I restarted the phone and forgot to restart the app. Other notes, I saw a bunch of cyclists today. At least a dozen or so.
