It rained over night, it's a bit cold. Better to ride in-doors. They had the London map going, so I decided to do two laps of th e London Loop. I got the gear running in no time. Just wish I could have hopped on about an hour earlier. The legs felt pretty good to start. I played around with the difficulty settings. I set it to "Off" for the first lap. I could definitely feel the difference. It was a bit odd. On the climbs, I was able to use a bigger gear. On the flats, it felt like usual. So the gear selection was awkward. I made it to the base of climb in about 15 minutes or so. The climb went as planned. I wanted to post a negative split. I kept the HR under 150. And the W/kg around 3. I was mostly out of the saddle. After making it to the summit, I made my way back to the start/finish. I put in a dig through the tunnel riser. I had the Halo Replay option on. So, on the second lap, I spotted my double from the previous lap. I was ahead of it the whole time. (As was expected as per the negative split). I made it to the base of the climb and was able to keep a higher tempo. I was pushing 3W/kg for a good chunk of the climb. Another Halo Replay showed up at the start of the climb. It was helpful by letting me know if I was on par. Turned out that I was. I made it to the summit doing a negative split. Placing at 19th out of 400-ish riders. I took a few moments to recover then made my way back. I put in another dig through the tunnel riser. I posted a PR on this lap. So, a double negative split. Concentration was good. Minimal gremlins. The mood felt good. I had my music going loud, so that helped. Nutrition was good. I drank most of my Gatorade. Balance and form was good. Ailments, some hand numbness. My right knee was a bit sore towards the last half of the ride. It never escalated. My left Achilles tendon was getting sore as I was ascending on the second lap. It never escalated, but I had to let up a bit to give it some time. Other notes, there were about 1000 riders when I hopped on.
