Great day for a ride. The wind was from the South East, but somewhat turbulent. Temperature in the 60's. I made it to the summit in good time. I cruised the downhill. I put in two digs over the risers. The wind appeared to be turbulent, so I knew that I wouldn't have to fight a hefty headwind on the return. I made it to the base of the climb in about 25 minutes. I spared no time and made my way back without stopping. The legs felt pretty good. I wasn't sure what to expect with the wind, but it turned out to be not so bad. I kept the tempo steady, no heroics. The landmarks went fast. I had stuff to think about, and the music helped. I was counting the songs as I neared the summit, estimating where I'd be at the end of each song or how many remaining till I reached the summit. Definitely helped. Concentration was good. The morale felt good. Balance and form was good. Gear worked perfect. Nutrition was good, no hunger signs. I went through most of my Gatorade. Ailments were minimal. A bit of hand numbness while out of the saddle for extended periods of time. Other notes, no cyclists today. There were a few spectators at the Loop Monument as I was descending and ascending from Keene.
