Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time. Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.

I bought a Samsung smartwatch yesterday. Only to find out that it doesn't support Ant+. So, I went back and bought a Garmin ForeRunner 45 watch. It has the ability to broadcast a HR signal via Ant+. That's what I was looking for, since my Garmin Edge 810 requires that type of signal. Zwift can do either Ant+ or BT. So I put them to the test. I was able to pair the Zwift app with the HR broadcast from the ForeRunner. Initial impressions were good. The HR signal was strong and did not vary as I was riding. One thing I noticed was that when I was reaching the upper BPMs, the reading started to show a bit less than it should. This is pending confirmation. The next time I ride, I'll use both the HR strap and the watch and compare the results.
As for the ride, it went as planned. I put in a 31 minute ascension time. I was sufficiently warmed up by the time I reached the base of the climb. I was keeping an eye on the HR reading. It leveled off at around 140 to 145. I don't think it ever got above 155. So, it's not entirely in accurate, but I think it bottoms out in the upper readings. After the first climb, I tried the Samsung watch to see what the HR reading was. I couldn't get it to work, so it's inconclusive how it compares. After the bonus climb, I headed back down the mountain. I was fiddling around with the Samsung watch, but no luck. On another note, I had the Halo Replay enabled, but it didn't bring up my previous performance. No clue why, the settings were enabled. I set the difficulty rating around 25% (maybe less). My right knee was hinting on soreness, so I think it helped find that better gear selection. I shut it down after crossing the finish line. I waited till the HR reached 112 BPM before ending the ride. Concentration was good. I was captivated by the new gear, so I was always distracted (in a good way). Balance and form felt good. Ailments, some minor ancle pain on the left leg. I adjusted my technique to mitigate it. Nutrition was good. I went through about 25% of my Gatorade. Gear worked flawless. The initial test for the Garmin watch went as planned. Other notes, there were about 4000 people on this map. I forgot to check my placing on the KOM, will have check the video.
