I forgot to start the timer on the GPS until about 4 minutes into the ride. The weather was great. A bit on the warm side, with cool air. In the upper / mid 70's. I felt kinda Light headed going out the door. It took till the top of the descent to Keene to get that sensation of situation awareness. I cruised the downhill. Soft pedaling, out of the saddle on the risers. As I was approaching the base, I saw one cyclist on his way up. He appeared to be of better than equal. When I reached the base, I turned around, immediately, and headed up the mountain. My legs felt lively for most of the climb. I was hoping to make up some ground on the solo cyclist. I knew it wasn't likely to happen, but I tried anyways. Not to my surprise, I wasn't able to real him in. Not even to a visible distance. So, I rode my own ride, nevertheless. I was doing high tempo for the majority of the ride. Putting my cookies on the steeper sections. After the third downhill riser, I recovered, backed off a bit. Then at about 10 minutes from the summit, I picked up the tempo and held it for the remainder of the climb. Concentration was good. I was in a pain tunnel for a good part of the ascent. Balance and form felt good. At the start of the ride, my legs felt a bit displaced, but by the time I reached the top of the descent, they felt better situated. Ailments consisted of right hand numbness. My mid back was sore from the start. Somewhat painful to turn around, such was when checking for traffic from behind. Gear is working well. Although, I did forget to start the timer, not to the fault of the GPS, but my own. Other notes, I forgot to oil my chain before the ride.
