Today was a big day as was planned. I had some stuff to do on Friday, so I put in a big ride today. The weather is great. In the 50's and 60's. The legs felt pretty good to start. I made it to the summit of the Keene descent in good average time. (I had to go back and fill a bottle with Gatorade, so my time is delayed by two minutes). I made it to the base in good time. The wind shifted as I was descending. I had a tailwind on the way back up. I did steady tempo. In and out of the saddle. I was keeping my concentration on what lay ahead. It definitely made the time go by quicker. I made it to the summit in about 1:09 hours. Subract that by 2 for the start delay and that makes for a 1:07 hours time. From there, I headed to the mailboxes where I stashed my extra bottle. I got back on the road and made my way to the Alpine Forest. The legs were starting to feel heavy, so I was having to adjust my tempo. I didn't bother checking the time at the summit of OTR. I headed up the Banducci Wall. It had some traffic mitigation, otherwise went as usual. The Alpine Forest climb went quick. My chain dropped to the inside of the cassette. This is the second time it happened, so I have t adjust the limiting screw. I didn't bother checking the time at the top of Arosa. I made my way around the backside, and then to the summit of Banducci. Once there, I had my Clif bar while relaxing for a few moments. After that, I got back on the road and headed down the mountain. It was mostly easy riding from here on. The Mariposa hill felt a bit sluggish in the legs. After making it back to Weston, I shut it down. Concentration was good. There were some gremlins, but I held it together out of experience. Gear worked good, but the limiting screw on the rear derailleur needs to be adjusted. Balance and form was good. Nutrition was good. No hunger signs. I fed at the top of Banducci. Ailments were minimal. Just the usual fatigue. Other notes, I saw about 5 or 6 cyclists today.
