Today's weather was nice and cool. In the mid 50's. Winds from the North West. I wore the standard kit, 1 base layer, arms and knees. I felt good going out the door. It didn't take much for me to get warmed up. As I was making my way up OTR, a rider had bridged from behind. It looked like he was going to pass me, but I kept the power down and ended up putting about 30 seconds on him by the time I reached the end of OTR. At the summit, I stopped to remove my knee warmers. As I was doing this, the rider I had dropped caught up to me. We were headed the same direction, down to WS. It was nice to have a carrot. He was about 2 to 3 minutes ahead by the time I got my knee warmers off. I continued to gain ground on me. I was able to keep him in sight till WS. We crossed paths and that was the last I saw him. I didn't red-line the return trip. But I kept my moment and power down. My body felt lively through out the ride. The wind wasn't too severe, so I wasn't struggling on the return. I was able to push it over the kickers on Highline, recovered and made my way back to OTR. The remainder was fun and games + a dig over Mariposa. Concentration was spot on. I had some things to ponder, so I was occupied in the mind. Balance and form felt real good. Ailments were minimal, some right hand numbness. A hint of lower back soreness. No sensation of exhaustion due to low temperatures today. Gear is working well. My headlight didn't turn on. I'm assuming I forgot to charge it. Other notes, I saw one glider being towed by an airplane on my return from WS.
