Today's weather was fantastic. Nice and cool, low 60's. Winds from the North West. I wore the standard kit with arms. I ended up taking off the arms at the end of OTR. I felt average going out. It didn't take much to get warmed up. The wind was moderate tail-cross on the way out. I kept the pace nice and steady, no less than moderate. About 2 or 3 miles from WS, I saw another cyclist on his way back. It was Bob, we've met before. I see him once in a blue moon. About 2 minutes later, I looked back to see what was behind and noticed a cyclist approaching. I wasn't sure who it was, but I kept my pace going. Just upped the anti a bit. The person ended up bridging. I didn't look back, but I saw his shadow. For a minute or two, I kept looking forward. I thought I saw two cyclists, but I think it was the shadow that threw me off. Shortly after, I noticed it was Bob. We ended up riding together on the return trip. As I expected, he was my equal. We didn't exchange many words. We were going into a headwind, so I could hardly make out what he was saying. Nevertheless, I did good time on the return. We went as far as OTR and Mariposa. He ended up going straight, where I normally go right. Concentration was good. My pack skills are still there. It was a familiar sensation. Balance and form felt good. I was near maxed out, but felt on top of the pedals. Ailments were minimal. I was pushing hard but had no pains other than exhaustion. Gear is working well. No issues there. Other notes, aside from Bob, I saw two other female cyclists as we were about to summit Highline. I saw some airplanes and a gilder or two.
