Today's weather was cold! In the low 40's. Strong winds from the North West. I wore the super kit today. Arms, knees, 1 base layer, jacket, full gloves, cap and face mask. I gauged it right. I felt comfortable for the duration of the ride. I took it easy on the way out. The wind was battering me around, no point in pushing it. I made it to the base under average time. I spared no time and headed back. I stopped briefly at the Chavez center to take my face mask off. The ascent was quite pleasant, the cool air felt invigorating. I was perfectly comfortable with what I was wearing. While climbing, I was thinking of landmarks and other stuff on my mind. The miles went quick. Before I knew it, I made it to the last dip and I put in my mind that the remainder was just tempo riding. I kept it just above moderate tempo. I was out of the saddle a lot. I think I made it to the summit in good time, all things considered. The trip down WTR was a relief. I coasted and soft-pedaled most of the way back. Concentration was spot on. Few lapses, no gremlins. Ailments were next to none. Balance and form felt real good. Gear is working great. No issues there. Other notes, no other cyclists to be found today.
