Today was another day for an indoor training ride. My back is still healing, but feeling better everyday. I decided to do another Zwift ride. I began with a 20ish minute loop on flat/rolling terrain. After that, I sort of just let the simulator pick the route for me. There weren't any major climbs, but some that lasted about 5 minutes or so. After getting a 10 to 15 minute warmup period, I increased the intensity. I was putting over 120 watts for most of the ride. I was able to hang with a lot of people, but many others better than me. I told myself to put in 2 laps and see what I had left. That's pretty much what I did. My back felt much better today. I was able to put power into the pedal, out of the saddle. I wasn't able to sustain it for more than 30 seconds or so. Whenever I felt discomfort, I dropped the tempo into the "safe zone". In the end of the ride, there was a pack of about 100 riders (likely a competitive ride) that past me. I tried to keep up. I was able to hang for a minute or two. I was having to put 300+ watts just to keep up. Will have to see how I do next time. Other stuff.. Gear is working flawless today. Concentration was good. My form is getting better, still unable to put full force, out of the saddle, into the pedals. But much better than the previous ride. No other ailments to note.
