The weather is warm. I decided to take a quick 40 minute nap after getting up around 6 in the morning. I was crossing my fingers that it wouldn't heat up too much. It didn't. The legs needed some time to get warmed up. I felt pretty good going up OTR. I made it to the summit in good average time. The Banducci Wall had minimal traffic mitigation, otherwise went within my limits. The Alpine Forest felt a bit slow to start, but the sensation of progress increased as I was climbing. I don't recall my HR over the top, but was likely near max. I zipped around the backend and then up to the summit of Banducci. I reached over 41 MPH on the dips while making my way to the summit. When I got there, I took a few moments rest, let traffic by and headed back down the mountain. There was some traffic mitigation, but not that much. Descending off the Banducci Wall was a treat. Minimal traffic and the wind condition permitted me to tuck the whole way down. I think I reached 40 MPH. From there, I headed to the summit of Highline. The legs felt good, so I was doing good tempo most of the way up. I did the Buffalo Run to top it off. I stopped once to pet the local horses. After making it back to Highline, I made my way back to OTR. It was mostly fun and games. I put in a sprint towards the bottom part of the descent. My coordination felt good. I pushed over Mariposa and then back home where I shut it down after reaching the summit of Weston. Concentration was good. I was a bit lethargic to start. I wished I could have slept another hour. But I'm glad I dragged my body out of bed when I did. Nutrition was good. I started with water. After about going through half of it, I started drink Gatorade. The GI seems to respond better this way, given that I had a full breakfast just before the start of the ride. Balance and form was good. Ailments, some hand numbness while out of the saddle. I alternated sitting and standing. Shanking the hands off while in the saddle. Gear worked flawless. I installed the Blendr mounts for my GPS and GoPro camera. They worked like a charm, but the GPS was rattling a bit while going over bumps. I sent an email to the merchant that I bought it from, pending a response. The Blendr mounts allowed me to torque the faceplate to the proper setting. No issues going over rough pavement, it felt steady as a rock! Other notes, I think I saw one cyclist today.
