The weather continues to be comfortable in the morning hours. Great day to go to SS. The legs were a bit sore to start, but turned around in the first 20 minutes of the ride. I made it to the end of OTR in good average time. The Banducci Wall had some traffic mitigation. I was much more at ease when I reached the Alpine Forest. I tried to keep my mind occupied. After reaching the first set of speed bumps, I was feeling better in the morale. I was near max going over the top. I made my around the backside. I reached over 41 MPH on one of the dips. After making it to the summit of Banducci, I took a minute to recoup. I let traffic by and then headed down the mountain. It was mostly fun and games. I was cautiously practicing my tuck. The trek to SS was quick. The minimal headwind allowed me to keep a pace around 18 MPH. The climb around the backside was the usual chore. I felt better when I made it to the top. The descdent was fun. I put in a sprint while in the hooks. I'm trying to recapture that "feeling". I'm almost there. I stopped at the local park for a quick bio, and then got back on the road. I checked for water fountains, but none to be found. Now that I think about it, I can just dowse my arm coolers with the bathroom water. Didn't even occur to me. Until next time... Shortly after, I got back on the road. I made it through the tunnel in about 1:16 hours + or -. I zipped through SS and then back on the farmlands. The wind was very calm, so I didn't have that afternoon tailwind that I enjoy so much. I kept the tempo moderate, increasing the tempo here and there. I made it to Boss Hogs in about 24-ish minutes later. The last climb went as usual. The legs were fatigued, but I held a good tempo to the summit. After reaching the summit, I pulled over and fed a Clif Bar. I'm train my GI to feed, in practice for the Spooktacular ride. I swapped out the GoPro battery and the third water bottle and got back on the road. The morale felt good knowing that that was the last of the big climbs. Route 202 had minimal traffic mitigation. OTR was mostly fun and games. I pushed over Mariposa, put in the usual dig over Weston and then shut it down. Concentration was good. The morale felt good. I wanted to get out. Minimal lapses and gremlins. Balance and form was good. Gear worked flawless. Ailments, some right hand numbness. I hint of lower knee soreness on the right leg nearing the last half of the ride. It subsided after 5 or 10 minutes. Nutrition was good. I had no hunger signs. The body accepted the Clif Bar feed without rejection. Other notes, I saw two other cyclists today.
