The weather is on the cooler side today. In the upper 70’s. Mild winds from the North West. I was waiting for the wind to do a 180, but no such luck. So, I decided to head out to WS nonetheless. The legs felt good from the start. Didn't take much time to get warmed up. I made it to the end of OTR in good average time. The trek to WS was enjoyable. No heroics. Just steady tempo. I wasn't sure what to expect on the return, but the wind conditions were mild, so I knew it wasn't going to be a death march. After reaching WS, (I forgot to check the time), I headed back, no stopping. The miles went quick. I was holding 15+ MPH most of the way back, with the exception of the climb to the top of Highline. I made my way to the Banducci Wall. The legs were feeling good. There was traffic mitigation, so that detracted from my concentration a bit. It kept my on my toes. More of the same for the remainder of the climb. I was always watching my six. After reaching the summit (in about 1:30 hours), I took a few moments rest and let traffic by. Shortly after, I headed back down the mountain. The descent off the Banducci Wall was fun. The return on OTR was mostly fun and games. I pushed it over Mariposa and shut it down when I made it back to the top of Weston. Concentration was good. Minimal lapses and minimal gremlins. Gear worked flawless. The brakes weren't squealing much today. Nutrition was good. No hunger signs. I drank about a third of my water before drinking Gatorade. Balance and form was good. Ailments, some right hand numbness while out of the saddle. Other notes, I saw two or three cyclists and some runners.
