It’s a bit overcast now. I was in the protected by the clouds for the first 20 minutes or so. Winds are from the Northwest, very mild. The legs felt good from the start, I made it to the summit of the descent in good time. I cruised the downhill. I put in two digs over the risers. I made it to the base in about 26-ish minutes. The return was tough. It started to get warm and the lack of a generous tailwind made it to be a slow march. At least that’s what it felt like being exposed to the sun. My patience was being challenged, so I was trying to keep the morale going. I kept thinking about the landmarks as they went by. The body was behaving. The legs felt pretty good. It was mostly the heat that slowed things down. After reaching the second dip, the morale felt more enthusiastic. I made it to the summit in about 1:07 hours. So, good time. I took a few moments to recover and then made my way to OTR. Given that the legs were warmed up, no point in holding back. I made it to the summit in about 1:30 hours. After reaching the summit, I was able to relax a bit and enjoy the downhill. I pushed over Mariposa and then returned home. I shut it down at the top of Weston. Sometime during these few moments, I noticed my HR was not being picked up by the GPS. So, there’s some metrics missing. Concentration was good. Minimal lapses and gremlins. Gear held up beautifully. Although the front brake is squeaking more than I would have liked. Balance and form was good. Nutrition was good. I went through most of my water before I began consuming Gatorade. Ailments, the right hand numbness while out of the saddle. My GI felt a bit bloated today. I finished breakfast about 20 minutes before departing, so I had a full stomach. It felt like gas more than anything. I felt it the most when I was almost finished with the Keene climb. It subsided a bit till I made my way back home. Other notes, no cyclists today. I saw the Loop train when I was on my way down and up from Keene.
