I got up late. It was around 7:30-ish. So, I was rushing to get out the door before it was too late. I ended up having a modest bowl of oatmeal. It went down easy. Today was the first time trying the Power Bar ISO Berry powder drink. First impressions were promising. It tastes near identical to the Cytomax from the past. It's a keeper. The legs felt pretty good today. Much better than the last ride. The weather is a bit on the warm side, but the air wasn't too humid or hot. I didn't bother checking the time at the summit of OTR. The Banducci Wall had some traffic mitigation, otherwise went as planned. I made my way to the summit of Banducci and took a few moments rest when I got there. I let traffic by and then headed to the rear entrance of the Alpine Forest. I performed the Alpine Forest climb in reverse. I wanted to mix things up a bit today. There were about 3 major risers. They topped out at about 12% gradient. I was having to use my lowest gear plus tacking my way up the climb when permissible. After reaching the summit, I was able to relax and enjoy the downhill. I was able to navigate my way back to Banducci without issues. Descending off the Banducci had some traffic mitigation, so not so much fun and games. From there, I did the Buffalo Run. The legs and body felt good going up the Volcano climb. I zipped through the neighborhood. I stopped once to pet the (beautiful) local horses. I made my way back to OTR. It was mostly fun and games. I pushed over Mariposa. Legs being a bit more fatigued by this time. After making it back to Weston, I shut it down for cooldown. Concentration was good. I had a few things to think about. I had some new music playing. It definitely helped. Gear worked flawless. Balance and form was good. Ailments, some right hand numbness while out of the saddle for extended moments. Nutrition was good. I love the new powder drink. It feels better than the Gatorade powder. It went down easy. I went through half of it plus a half of plain water. Other notes, no cyclists today. I saw at least 4 deer today.
