It's cloudy and cold. It was supposed to rain, so I decided to ride indoors. I took a brief nap after breakfast and then got up and hopped on the trainer. The gear setup went quick and without issues. I chose the Watopia Mountain Loop. The legs felt pretty good to start. I was keeping it under 100 watts for the first 10 minutes. Once in a while I got out of the saddle and in a bigger gear to test the legs. I was sufficiently warmed up by the time the climb began. I haven't ridden this route in a while. The climbing legs didn't take much to settle in. About 15 minutes into the climb, I was feeling more at home. I was beginning to sweat around the same time. I kept the watts/kg around 2.5 to 3.0-ish. I did this for most of the climb. I didn't have a halo replay clone, as it's been over 3 months since I've ridden this route. There were others around me to keep my attention. I made it to the tunnel in about 25 minutes. I kept my momentum going over the top. Reaching the summit in around 32 minutes and change. From there, I did the bonus climb. It was slower tempo than the first. Mostly under 3W/kg till I reached the last few hundred meters. After making it to the summit, I descended back in town. Soft pedaling most of the way. I tried not to slack off too much, so I was coaching myself to keep the tempo going. I was also doing the numbers in my head. "How much time left till I reach the finish". I put in a modest effort through the sprint zone. I finished in the middle of the pack. I made it to the finish a few moments later. Once there, I commenced the cooldown phase till the HR went down to 112BPM and the milage at 20 Miles. Concentration was good. My impatience didn't get the better of me. Ailments, I have a slight soreness in the left outer knee that didn't detract from the effort, but was noticeable on occasion. I had numb hands while doing extended out of the saddle efforts. My new gloves are due to arrive today. Balance and form was good. Nutrition was good. No hunger signs. I went through most of my sport drink and a few sips of water. Gear worked flawless. Other notes, there were about 7500 riders when I hopped on.
